Where we are, and what that means
IndiGo Adventures is based in El Pescadero, on the Pacific side of Baja California Sur, a few minutes south of Todos Santos and about an hour north of Cabo San Lucas on Highway 19. We are not a Cabo marina operation, though two of our boats leave from Cabo. That distinction decides which water we can reach on a given day and how early you have to be up.
Every trip is built rather than booked off a shelf. You tell us who is coming, when you are here and what you want out of the day, and we put the boat, the captain and the ground together to match. Depending on what a trip needs, Colin Sutton works with a roster of guides, trainers, cooks, captains and deckhands rather than one fixed crew. The company has run trips from Panama to Alaska. What this site covers is Baja.
What we run is fishing and spearfishing charters, freediving excursions, whale watching and kayaking. Five boats, from a 24 foot panga that launches through the surf at Punta Lobos to a 35 foot sportfisher out of the Cabo San Lucas Marina. Where you meet us depends on which boat runs your trip, so read a trip page and the fleet page together.
We will tell you when your timing is wrong. Whales are here roughly mid December to April and not in August. Some weeks the north wind decides the day for us. If the trip you want does not suit the dates you have, you will hear that before you book rather than at six in the morning on a beach.
We almost never run split charters, so the boat is yours and your group. A 50 percent deposit normally holds a date. Mexican fishing licences are not included, every angler buys their own and we will help you arrange it. Prices, departure times and trip lengths are still being confirmed with the captain and are marked “to confirm” on this site rather than guessed at.

Which boat runs your trip decides where you leave from. Pangas launch through the surf at Punta Lobos on the Pacific side. The sportfishers leave the Cabo San Lucas Marina. La Morita sits over the hill in San Jose del Cabo, closest to the Gordo Banks.

Filleting at the dock, vacuum sealing and freezing are available, and most guests fly home with a cooler. Marlin are mostly released, with judgement on the day. Sierra makes the best ceviche here, but eat it the same day.

He took us to catch bait, then troll by some good spots and finally ended up freediving along a beautiful reef. great fun for the whole family!
Very fun trip with Colin. He was responsive to calling and texting the night before our adventure and set us up with a great Captain Beto who took us into the sea of cortez and we caught 20 fish including a massive Dorado! Highly recommend will be fishing with them for all future adventures in baja

No. Everyone fishing in Mexican waters needs a Mexican sportfishing licence, and each angler buys their own. We help you arrange it before the day so nobody is sorting paperwork on the dock. The same licence covers rod and spear.
Rarely. Almost every trip goes out as a private boat for you and your group. If a split makes sense for a small party we will say so when you enquire.
Three on the 24 foot Punta Lobos panga, up to four on La Ruca and La Morita, and up to six on Don Pancho and El Wahoo King. Whale watching numbers run a little higher because nobody is swinging a rod.

Yes, on fishing days. The crew rigs and handles the gear and hands you the rod when something eats. Guided spearfishing needs breath-hold experience and runs on a strict buddy system, which is the only legal way to spearfish in Mexico. Water, ice and snacks are normally aboard.
